Sam Dewayne Linn
Born September 10, 1942 passed away peacefully at home on Saturday morning October 3, 2026. -Age 84 - He is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mae Linn, parents Sam D. Linn and Lorene Winton Linn, and sister Katie Sue Tuggle. He retired from the City of Graysville after a long career of 25years. He loved to race. He raced at Birmingham, Montgomery, Midfield, Huntsville, and Sayre raceways. Racing with the likes of Bobby Allison, Neil Bonnett and more. He always said “It was the most fun I ever had!”. After he and Dot retired they hit the road in their motor coach making lots of wonderful memories along the way. At home he loved to tinker in his garage and enjoyed spending time on his back deck watching his ballgames and races. He loved his girls, his grandchildren, and his great grands. He is survived by two daughters, Tracey England (Wade) and Tammy Scrivner (Jody); Four grandchildren, Brandy Love (Jamee), Morgan England (David Dean), Sam Scrivner (Kait), Zac Scrivner (Allie) and six great grandchildren, Madalinn, Caroline, Liam and Henry Love, Cash Scrivner, and McKenna Scrivner.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 06, 2026 at 12:00 pm, family will receive guest one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens.
