In the 1990s a group of individuals who raced stock cars in Alabama as far back as the 1940's led a movement to create the Alabama Auto Racing Pioneers an organization dedicated to the preservation of the memories and
history of Alabama Motorsports .
Today we are a 300 plus member organization ,a mix of former competitors and noncompetitor racing advocates who share a genuine love for motor racing and its history .
We consider the opportunity to promote and preserve the memory of
Alabama motor racing history and its pioneers a privilege.
We have a number of activities each year most most any racing advocate will enjoy and we invite you to join in on the fun
The Pioneer Hall if Fame resides at the International Motor Sports Hall of Fame
[IMHOF] located at the Talladega Superspeedway the track is located off
I-20 50 minutes east of Birmingham .
a room is dedicated to Alabama racing history and many of the key racing people who built the sport throughout the state.
It is available to tour every time the IMHOF is open.
On race weekends racing pioneers volunteer to share fascinating tales of racing history .
Hall of Fame nominations are held each year March 1st thru May 30th.
The nominee can be from any racing environment and must been involved with racing for 35 years.
